Good Morning Members,
With help from Mother Nature and Arlen Hill, our superintendent, the first annual Fox Run Cup was a hit! Arlen had the golf course in the best condition we’ve seen thus far, especially the greens’ speed. The controversial pin placement on hole #5, “Arlen’s Revenge,” left the players talking to their putters. Also, Matt Holloran came out of tournament retirement just for this special event!
The event consisted of two teams of ten players: the Blue Fox Team (Team Montano) and the Red Fox Team (Team Potts). It is a 27-hole Ryder Cup event, each nine with a different format (Alternate Shot, Best Ball, and Singles). It was a very close contest. After the first nine, we had a tie game. Concluding the second nine, the Blue Fox team had a one-point advantage. It came to the last match between Ron Ashworth vs. David Meyer. The game was even going to the final hole. Ashworth needed to win to tie the event and take it to a sudden-death playoff. The last match tied and gave the Blue Fox team the Cup!

Team Red Fox: Jeff Budrovich, Matt Holloran, David Hurley, Jeff Marsh, Nick Holloran, Scott Borlinghaus, Mike Graven, Charlie Gitto, Rich Johannesman and Ron Ashworth.
